3 Tbsp. lemon juice

1 1/2 Tbsp. tahini

2 cloves garlic, crushed

1 tsp cumin, ground

1/2 tsp. sodium free salt substitute
(We used No Salt Sodium Free Salt Substitute.)

2 Tbsp. balsamic vinegar

1 Tbsp. olive oil

CHOOSE ONE BELOW

6 whole pitas (6 inches wide)

OR

6 Whole Wheat Sandwich Thins

1. Drain the liquid from the can of chickpeas and save 1/4 cup of it.

2. In a blender or food processor combine all the ingredients except the pitas or sandwich thins. Process until it turns into a puree with the consistency of a thick spread.

3. Toast the pitas or sandwich thins, cut them into 6 pieces each and serve them with 1/4 cup of hummus per person.

Yield: 6 Servings (1/4 cup hummus and 1 pita or sandwich thin is a serving.)
