Ingredients


fat free cooking spray

4 cups Cheerios

1 cup dry oats
(We used Quaker Oats.)

1/2 cup whole wheat flour

2 scoops (2/3 cup) protein powder
(We used GNC Pro Performance 100% Whey Protein Vanilla Flavor.)

2/3 cup Splenda
(We used the box that measures cup for cup like sugar.)

1/2 cup chopped dates

1 whole egg

4 egg whites

1/3 cup sugar free imitation honey
(We used Honey Tree's Sugar Free Honey.)

4 Tbsp. peanut butter
(We used Naturally More Peanut Butter.)

1/4 cup (2 oz.) lite apple sauce

1 1/2 Tbsp. vegetable oil

1 cup fat free milk


1. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a 9x13 inch baking dish with aluminum foil, then lightly coat the pan with fat free cooking spray.

2. In a large bowl combine the Cheerios, oats, flour, protein powder, Splenda and chopped dates.

3. In another mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs. Then mix in the honey, peanut butter, apple sauce, vegetable oil and milk. Pour over the cereal mixture and stir everything together.

4. Pour everything into the prepared baking dish and level it out. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until the top turns a golden brown. Set on a wire rack and cool completely. When it's cooled, cut into nine bars.

Freeze bars for re-heating later. Make sure they're tightly sealed inside freezer safe bags or containers.

Microwave each bar for approximately 30 to 60 seconds, depending on microwave strength. Cover the bar with a damp paper towel to keep it softer.
