1 1/2 tsp. ground ginger

1 tsp. ground cinnamon

1 tsp. dry mustard, ground

1/2 tsp. baking soda

1/2 tsp. reduced sodium baking powder

1/4 tsp. ground cloves, ground

1/4 tsp. salt

1 1/4 cups lowfat buttermilk

1 egg yolk

2 Tbsp. dark molasses

2 Tbsp. sugar free honey
(We Used Honey Tree Sugar Free Imitation Honey.)

2 Tbsp. safflower oil

3 egg whites

1. Mix the first eleven dry ingredients, flour through salt together. In a separate bowl whisk together the five wet ingredients, buttermilk through safflower oil.

2. Stir the wet and dry ingredients together until they're thoroughly combined.

3. Beat together the egg whites until they form soft peaks. Fold the egg whites gently into the batter.

4. Pour the batter 1/2 cup at a time into the waffle maker. Follow manufacturer's instructions for proper cooking times. When finished, serve with heated sugar free syrup (like Carey's).
