1/2 cup fat free milk

1 large whole egg

2 large egg whites

2 Tbsp. Splenda or stevia

2 tsp. rum extract

1/4 tsp. salt

1/4 tsp. cinnamon, ground

1/4 tsp. nutmeg, ground

1/4 tsp. cloves, ground

1/8 tsp. ginger, ground

4 slices 100% whole wheat bread

buttery cooking spray


sugar free syrup (We like Cary's Sugar Free Syrup.)

powdered sugar

Get a taste of the holidays with this sweet French toast. Serve with sugar-free syrup.

1. Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat.

2. Whisk together all the ingredients except the cooking spray and bread. Once they're thoroughly combined, dip each slice of the bread into the egg mixture. Turn and coat both sides.

3. Lightly coat the pan with the buttery cooking spray. Put the coated bread in the pan and cook until golden brown, about 3 minutes per side.

Yield: 2 Servings, 2 slices of French Toast per serving
