Ingredients
6 medium royal gala apples
1/2 cup buckwheat flour
1/4 cup oatmeal
1 tsp. lemon juice
6 Tbsp. light butter
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
3/4 cup Splenda no calorie sweetener
(We used the box that measures cup for cup like sugar.)
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 cup slivered almond pieces
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
2. Cut the tops off the apples and a small slice off the bottom. Using a teaspoon, scoop the seeds out of the apple.
3. In a large bowl, combine all the items (except apples) and mix well. You can use a spoon or your hands.
4. Stuff each apple evenly, about 2.5 Tbsp. of stuffing mixture apiece.
5. Fill a 13 x 9 baking dish with 1 cup of water. Place the stuffed apples in the baking dish and bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 minutes. Serve hot!
