Ingredients

3 Bartlett pears

1/3 cup Splenda

1/2 cup Sugar Twin granulated brown

1 Tbsp. cornstarch

1 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon

1/2 tsp. ground cloves

1/3 cup whole wheat flour

1/2 cup oatmeal

1/4 cup chopped walnuts

1 Tbsp. lemon juice

3 Tbsp. light butter, melted

Yes this recipe is higher in fat, but remember it's a dessert, not a meal.

1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.

2. Cut the pears in half. Using a teaspoon, scoop the seeds out of the middle. Place each pear half in a 6-ounce custard cup (cut side up).

3. In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients (except pears) and mix well. This is the streusel topping.

4. Cover the tops of each pear with approximately 2 Tbsp. of streusel topping.

5. Fill a 13 x 9 baking dish with 1 cup of water. Place the custard cups in the baking dish and bake at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 40 minutes. Serve hot or refrigerate and serve cold.

6. (For a more moist topping, cover the custard dishes with plastic wrap and let them sit in the refrigerator for approximately 2 hours before baking. You can also refrigerate them overnight and bake them when you're ready for dessert.)

Yield: 6 Servings
