Ingredients
2 cups peeled & chopped tart apples
(We used Gala apples.)
1 Tbsp. + 1 tsp. Splenda
(We used the box that measures cup for cup like sugar.)
1 Tbsp. + 1 tsp. sugar
2 Tbsp. walnuts, chopped
1 Tbsp. whole wheat flour
1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground cloves
fat free cooking spray
6 sheets of fillo (phyllo) dough, 14x9 inches each
(We used Athens Fillo (Phyllo) Dough.)
12 squirts of butter spray
(We used I Can't Believe it's Not Butter Spray.)
6 tsp. powdered sugar
2. Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit. Then spray a cookie sheet with fat free cooking spray.
3. When working with phyllo dough, keep a damp towel handy to cover it so it doesn't dry out. (A) Start with two sheets, one on top of the other. (B) Then fold it in half lengthwise. Squirt a shot of butter spray in the middle. (C) Put 1/3 cup of apple mixture in the center, closer to the bottom of the phyllo sheets. (D) Turn the left and right sides over top the apple mixture. (E & F) Then fold the top section over and finally fold the bottom up.

4. After each strudel is wrapped, turn it over so the seam is down and place it on the cookie sheet. Cut a couple slits in the tops of each strudel and spray each one with another squirt of butter spray.
5. Bake for 20-22 minutes or until a golden brown color. When finished, sprinkle powdered sugar over the top. For an extra treat, serve with a scoop of ice cream on the side.
