Ingredients

1 pint (2 cups) grape tomatoes, halved

2 Tbsp. apple cider vinegar

1 tsp. brown sugar

pinch of allspice

pinch of cinnamon

1/4 tsp. black pepper, ground

1 pound 99% lean ground turkey

2 garlic cloves (2 tsp.), minced

fat free olive oil spray

4 whole wheat hamburger buns

1. Heat a non-stick frying pan over medium heat. Mix the first six ingredients, grape tomatoes through black pepper, and cook for 8-10 minutes until the chutney (sauce) starts to thicken. You can now either put the warm chutney in a blender and mix until it's smooth or simply set it aside as-is to top the burgers with.

2. While the chutney is cooking, mash together the ground turkey and garlic. Then divide it into 4 equal patties. (For best results, when you make a pattie, put a small indent in the middle. Then when it plumps as it cooks, the middle won't bulge out.)

3. Heat a large nonstick frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, spray the pan with fat free olive oil spray. Put the patties in the pan and cook them for about 4 minutes on one side, then flip them over and cook another 2 minutes on the other. Cover and keep cooking for another 2-4 minutes until the juice from the burgers run clear. (If you use a meat thermometer inserted in the center it should read 165 degrees Fahrenheit.)

4. Place one patty on each bun bottom and divide the warm chutney between each of the patties. Cover with the bun tops and your burgers are ready to serve.
