Ingredients
1 cup chopped strawberries (About 12 oz.), divided
1/4 cup Splenda or stevia
3 cups oat milk
(We used Planet Oat Oatmilk Unsweetened.)
1 scoop (1/3 cup) vanilla protein powder
(We used GNC Pro Performance 100% Whey Vanilla Cream Protein Powder.)
1/4 cup Splenda or stevia
I like fruit but wanted to avoid all the sugar from a milk-based protein shake. This strawberry milk shake is perfect after a run.
1. Chop the strawberries and divide them into TWO half-cup servings. Set one aside.
2. Take ONE of the half-cup servings of strawberries and use a fork to mash it into a puree. Put it in a small pot and warm it over high heat. Add 1/4 a cup of Splenda or stevia and stir in.
3. Once the strawberries start to boil, continue cooking and stirring for two more minutes. Then pour into a blender.
4. Add the oat milk, protein powder and SECOND 1/4 cup of Splenda or stevia. Blend until all the protein powder is thoroughly combined.
5. Divide into two servings and split the remaining 1/2 cup of strawberries between the two. It will make about 2.5 cups per serving.
Yield: 2 Servings, About 2.5 Cups Each
