Ingredients
2 slices of lower calorie whole wheat bread
(We used Dave's Killer Bread 70 Calories Thin-Sliced Good Seed Organic Bread.)
1/2 Tbsp. of Splenda or stevia
1/8 tsp. of cinnamon, ground
butter spray
My mom use to make me cinnamon toast when I got home from school. The combination of crunchy toast, butter and sweet cinnamon was a perfect snack to hold me over before dinner. In my recreated version, I use far less butter by spraying it on instead of using a knife. I also keep the sweet but drop the sugar by mixing the cinnamon in with Splenda. The combination is just as satisfying as when I was a kid.
1. Toast the bread.
2. In a small bowl mix together the Splenda (or stevia) and ground cinnamon.
3. When the toast is done, lightly spray it with the butter. Then sprinkle the cinnamon mixture over the top.
Yield: 1 Serving, 2 Slices of Toast Per Serving
